Some of you may know, I recently taught a course on blogging. This course was taught face-to-face during a brunch session and is now available online. When I was in the process of uploading the video, I had so many struggles! It literally took about three days to get this video up! Every time I tried to save it, there would be an error. I tried multiple ways to get this video to download. I felt that the reason the video wouldn't download was because the file was too big. If you're one of the Birthing Blogger students, then you know I gave so much information in that video. And if you aren't, then perhaps you should be. *gets back on track*
So, in my efforts to save this very large file, I spent hours going through my computer files getting rid of things that I didn't need, trying to make room for the file. Once that still didn't work, I tried jump drives. Three different ones to be exact. Two borrowed, and one I bought brand new, and that didn't even work. File was STILL too big. After that, I tried breaking the video down into more than one video. File, now became fileS (plural), was STILL too big. I was so frustrated over and over again. Wifi not being strong enough also played a factor. In order to get past that, I would move around. From my room to the living room, from the living room to Starbucks, from Starbucks to a friend's house. All of this, file was STILL too big.
Thinking back, I know with anything else, I would've given up. With this one, I just couldn't! I never even thought about giving up. I knew what God showed me. So over and over again, I was met with the notification that download was unsuccessful. At one point, I was really trying hard, I was editing the video, trying lots of different things, and I had to stop because I had to get back to class. Keep in mind, with everything that I do, I am first a full time college student! *sigh* But I found myself about to close the computer and run to my next class, still upset that I haven't figured this out yet. And I heard the Holy Spirit say, "when the vision is beyond capacity". Y'ALL!!!! Y'ALLLLLLLL!!!! With the QUICKNESS, my mood shifted! No, I had not been successful in getting the video up, but in that moment, it did not even matter. I just felt so overwhelmed and started rejoicing! That shouted me!! Do you hear me?! But wait, can't forget, this is happening all with five minutes to get to class across campus! In that moment, I felt so relieved. I knew that God would make a way, and I was also reminded of his word.
"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us"
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”
1 Corinthians 2:9
I still had some work to do, and this video needed to get up, but I had all of the assurance I needed to keep going. Even though this message came in the form of a notification reading "unsuccessful", I was able to get so much out of it.
1. No matter what I do, it'll never be effective when it is done in my own strengths.
2. Stick to the plan & remember what God said/showed you.
3. God's vision for our lives is something that we will never be able to comprehend!
4. When God begins a work, He will see it to the end. (Philippians 1: 6)
The video finally made its way from iMovie to a saved file on my laptop, and from the laptop to Youtube after three days of wrestling, one revelatory moment, and one discovery of one little button that could fix it all.
